Angel of Death

After searching Kyle O’neil’s house we found stuff that was very wrong. The boy who “found” the dead body, was the killer. He’s definitely a sociopath. In his house we found burnt critters and animals. Also there was remains of bones in his cupboards! His father suprisingly still alive he says it’s going to be hard to find his son. But soon after saying so, the cops found and arrested Kyle O’neil. After this Justin said that Hannah, my mother, is back. I looked into the  light and saw my mother. As she took another step i just started running. With tears of joy i jumped into her arms. Me and my mother were reunited.

Mr Oakes’ funeral happened with the whole entire town of Silverton at the church. Mr. Oakes got cremated. Under special circumstances the church allows it. What were thinking is that Oakes died from spontaneous human combustion. We can’t find anyone responsible for the death. Me and justin have been trying to find out. Besides all of this i got to meet my mother and my sister. I felt bad because i didn’t tell my father. Im really nervous. I get to meet Hannah, my mother. The one that just got up and left years ago.

Kyle O’neil said that he called the Scout Master Dwayne Reynolds to tell him what happenedso i wrote that name down. Right now were taking the remains to Durango for an autopsy. He must’ve been very interested beacuse he offered to examine the body on a Saturday, his day off. When we brought the body we put him in the X-Ray first. I got to meet Dr. Moore who seemed to be very interested in me. The X-Ray revealed a few broken bones. Next, was the slicing open of the body. First the Doctor cut open the shoulders. After that it was the Rib Cage. After looking at the flesh we made a discovery, Mr. Oakes was cooked alive!

The limbs on the body were shaped very oddly. His smooth skin that he had worn in life was now withered to the bone. The tip of his tongue was dark gray and the tip was sticking out of  of his mouth. He looked brutally beaten. This Mr. Oakes is not the one I knew as a teacher. Blood was seeping down his gums onto his teeth. His eyelids are rolled back like curtains and thats not even the worst part. What it revealed was two dark holes, his eye sockets were empty. We couldn’t figure out why the eyes were missing. I just did my job and took a lot of pictures. I’m probably going to need them.

Sheriff Jacobs still doesn’t think I can handle the dead body. He said so to my dad, but my dad just told him that its his daughter and to let him be in charge of her. We found Oakes in his bed. I’ve learned that Mr. Oakes was supposed to take a group on some wilderness trip. The kid that found him was an “eagle scout” and his name was Kyle O’Neil. I finally went to the crime scene. What I saw I wish I could take back. Sheriff Jacobs might’ve been right. The smell was putrid. I couldn’t believe what i saw.

My favorite teacher Mr. Oakes is dead! Brad Oakes the teacher I had for English last year was found. It was hard to not get upset, I had to act professional. Also once again my mammaw is worried about my moodiness. She thinks it’s because im around death a lot. I know its not, I really wanna be a Forensic Pathologist. Being assistant to a Coroner will give me the edge for college. Anyway, im kind of worried because the Sheriff doesn’t want me to see the remains of the body in the condition they’re in. I can’t lie though, i’m kind of scared. But I think i”ll be alright.

After the case that ended being just a dead dog, i got the rest of my day off. My mamma thinks my father will be angry that i left my work as a Coroner Assistant to help my friend Justin Crowley. My mamma thinks im stressed about what my mother did to me about a month ago. Her and my father split up years ago. Recently, my mom sent me a letter begging me to call her and when i did, it wasn’t even a real number. I tried telling her that i’m over it but i don’t think she believes me. Also on top of all this, i found out i have a twin sister named Jayne that i have no memory of.  This wasn’t really the best day off, i don’t like discussing things like these. Im going to try to stay calm. I don’t want to get upset even more than I already am.

Im Cameryn Mahoney. I help my coroner father out at a morgue where he works. Over the years i’ve seen some pretty gross things. I’ve seen more gore than an average 17 year old. My friend Justin the deputy and I went to investigate a dead body of a dog that was found on the side of the road! It looks like a lot of chewing and biting went on from the wildlife. We can’t even tell if it is male or female. It doesn’t look like a regular decaying thing though it feels strange. Im not sure what it is. I should go get back to my Coroner job I left to help my friend examine the dog.
